For over 100 years, making a difference in the places where we live and work has been at the core of who we are as Lowe's associates. Our community impact focus areas include improving community spaces, critical home repairs, disaster relief and skilled trades education. Whether it's through our associate volunteer programs or the way we step up to help neighbors in the aftermath of disaster, we are there to support and improve our communities.

As a home improvement company, we are uniquely positioned to improve homes and neighborhoods. We partner with nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together to support safe and affordable housing initiatives and address critical home repairs.

In addition, through Lowe's Hometowns, our largest-ever community impact initiative, we've committed $100 million over the next five years to revitalize community spaces nationwide.

Each year during the Lowe's Hometowns program, we will complete 100 signature projects chosen from consumer nominations, plus nearly 1,700 projects through our stores, supply chain locations and store support centers across the country.

"Giving back and helping in the community does hold a special place in my heart. I'm an advocate of, if you give back to others it will be given back to you. This is the reason I feel our company, my district and my team are so successful because we all give back."

Rico A., Assistant Planning Manager

When a disaster strikes, we're with our community. Our best-in-class Command Center mobilizes aid quickly to help families, business and communities get back up and running.

Following disaster, our recovery efforts work to meet a variety of community needs, including distributing critical supplies, partnering with nonprofit organizations to support response and cleanup efforts and deploying our mobile Tool Rental Disaster Response Trailer.

"During Hurricane Ian, the Command Center was able to move over 1,000 truckloads of emergency supplies to stores across the impacted region. Many of those items are supported by my team which is responsible for vital emergency items. Being able to play a small role in that event was an incredible experience."

Lindsay R., Command Center Consultant

Supporting our military communityhas been an important part of our culture since our founding. As a part of our commitment to service members, veterans and their families, we partner with organizations like USO and Building Homes for Heroes to support workforce training, affordable housing initiativesand other community-based resources.

Studies show that 88% of contractors report trouble finding skilled workers, and an estimated 501,000 new skilled tradespeople will be needed to meet demand in 2024alone.

This is why the Lowe's Foundation is developing a community of skilled tradespeople to build and revitalize our homes, neighborhoods and infrastructure for the future. This comes to life through the Foundation's Gable Grants program, a five-year, $50 million commitment to community and technical colleges and community based nonprofits and national nonprofits with a strong local presence.

We are also proud to offer our Track to the Trades program, a workforce development initiative that offers all Lowe's associates access to tuition-free skilled trades certifications to jumpstart a rewarding career in the trades.

From the products on our shelves to our daily business practices, we're committed to developing a more sustainable future.Since 2016, we have reduced absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 49%.

In December 2022, we announced our goal to reach net-zero emissions across our full value chain, including scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050. Since 2020, we have reduced our total energy consumption by 3% and total electricity use by 17%.
